Former President of the Senate, Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki, has called on young Nigerians across the country to take advantage of the ongoing continuous voters’ registration exercise embarked on by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
In a video posted on all his social media handles (@bukolasaraki), Saraki said with 30 million unregistered voters, young Nigerians had the power to choose their leaders at all levels.
“In 2019, 84 million Nigerians registered to vote. 51 percent were below 35 years old. However, on election day, only 29 million voters came out.
“With about 30 million unregistered young voters, clearly, the power is firmly in your hands,” Saraki said.
He added that young Nigerian’s determination to make the country work for them has echoed across the world, while also emphasizing that if they register to vote, they can decide the future of the country.
