The Deputy Minority Leader of the Senate, Senator Lere Oyewumi has declared that the road rehabilitation and construction has been designed to make constituents comfortable and open rural communities for development.
Senator Oyewumi made this declaration during his official inspection visit to the completion and rehabilitation of the Olomo Wewe to YTD Primary Road in Okinni, Egbedore Local Government area of Osun State, a crucial infrastructure project that links several communities hubs.
The Senator representing Osun West Senatorial District who blamed the spate of rural urban migration on lack of roads and other basic amenities needed to make life comfortable, noted the broader impact of such developments; the road project is not just about asphalt; it’s about access to healthcare and markets, enhancing the socio-economic prosperity of the area.
Senator Oyewumi reaffirmed his administration’s focus on grassroots empowerment and infrastructural growth, bringing renewed hope to the residents of Egbedore and neighboring communities.
According to the lawmaker, the completion and rehabilitation of the Olomo Wewe to YTD Primary Road in Okinni, will not only address problem facing by the road users, but will equally improve access to school, enable evacuation of farm produce to the market and boost economic activities.
There was a carnival like atmosphere in the entire Egbedore Local Government Area of Osun State during the inspection visit of Senator Oyewumi who was accompanied by Yeye Akogun Omolara Oyewumi and the Federal Commissioner of the Public Complaints Commission representing Osun State, Aremo Adekunle Alao, who undertook a significant working visit as stakeholders and constituents of the community took turns to appreciate the lawmaker for the completion of the long abandoned roads which he facilitated.
During the visit, there was a warm reception by community stakeholders, party leaders, and supporters, led by Chief Joseph Kolade Adeleke who showered encomium on Senator Oyewumi, saying the Federal Lawmaker has turned their sadness to complete joy with the completion of the roads declaring him as a “politician of his words”.
One of the highlights of the visit was the inspection of the newly completed rehabilitation of the Olomo Wewe to YTD Primary Road in Okinni, a crucial infrastructure project that links several community hubs.
The road connects Winners Church, Palace Road, Opposite C.A.C Church, Tipper Garage, Babakekere’s residence, and concludes at Al-Nurr Hospital along Shamrock Hotel Road, all in Egbedore Local Government area.
