Ahmed Wadada, Senator-elect for Nasarawa West, has pledged to appoint Special Assistants across the 59 Wards in the five Local Governments Areas of the district.

Mr Wadada, who was elected on the platform of Social Democratic Party (SDP), stated this on Monday in Keffi at a meeting with the leadership of his campaign council.

The meeting was his first after his victory at the just concluded Presidential and National Assembly elections.

The five local governments that made up the Senatorial district are; Kokona, Keffi, Karu, Nasarawa and Toto.

The former two-term member of the House of Representatives said that the initiative was a strategy towards bringing the day-to-day activities of his office closer to the electorate.

Mr Wadada also said that the strategy was part of his efforts to ensure that his constituents enjoy more dividends of democracy.

He said that the appointment of the aides would enable him keep in touch with the electorate, hear their complaints and get their reactions and contributions on issues that affects them.

Mr Wadada said appointments would also serve as a reward and motivation for those who worked to ensure that he won the election.

“I made a pledge during the campaigns period that I will redouble efforts to provide quality representation for the people of Nasarawa West.

“The expectation of the people will not be traded differently from when I was in the House of Representatives 12 years ago. I will improve upon it by giving more qualitative representation.

“They are not new to my style of leadership  and they also knew what I had done and what I can do, which Insha Allah, I will not fell them.

“I am assuring the electorate that those qualities of representation that they knew of me is what they should expect and even beyond,” he said.

Mr Wadada said that he would do everything possible to respond to all developmental needs of his people as a responsive leader.
