History was made in Ikire as the Akire of Ikireland, His Royal Majesty, Oba Olatunde Falabi Olambeloye III, elevated the Senate Deputy Minority Leader, High Chief Omo Apesin of Ikireland.


Senator Lere Oyewumi, a seasoned administrator, turbaned with humility, christened with benevolence, and glorified for excellent service to FIRST CLASS CHIEF IN THE AKIRE IN COUNCIL.

The promotion was in recognition of his tremendous efforts towards the development of Ikire and the Osun West Senatorial District.

According to Oba Falabi’s letter, “We have observed all your developmental activities around all constituencies of our 3rd Senatorial District in Osun State which It is the first of its kind in Osun State today.

“You have done us proud in your empowerment activities. God will reward you richly for all your good deeds. In appreciation of your exemplary work, we thought it fit to promote you from Second Class Chief to First Class Chief in the Akire in Council cabinet of Chiefs.”

This promotion is a testament to Senator Oyewumi’s dedication to the community and his unwavering commitment to serving the people of Ikire and its environs.

Senator Oyewumi’s commitment to the progress of Ikire is evident in his continued efforts to support the town and its people.

The Senate Deputy Minority Leader, Akogun Lere Oyewumi, while reacting to his elevation expressed his sincere gratitude to the Akire of Ikire land, Oba Olatunde Falabi Olambeloye III, and the Akire in Council for the esteemed honor of promoting him to the status of First Class Chief in the Akire-in-Council cabinet.

He pledges to continue working tirelessly for the betterment of the kingdom and to uphold the values and traditions of Ikire.

Senator Oyewumi also extended his appreciation to the sons and daughters of Ikire, both at home and in the diaspora, for their unwavering support and prayers for the development and prosperity of entire Ikire land.
