A 78-year-old man, Azeez Akintunde, has been arraigned before an Osogbo Magis- trate Court for allegedly defrauding a man, Abi- deen Busari, of a sum of N845,000.
Akintunde, who was arraigned alongside one Taiwo Ajadi (60) before the court on Wednesday, al- legedly obtained the sum on the pretence of selling three and half plot of land University (UNIOSUN)
According to sheet obtained by this medium, the accused persons committed the of- fence on August 20, 2021 at No 79, Layiokun Com- pound, Osogbo.
The alleged offence, ac- cording to the police, con- travened Sections 516,419 and 390(9) of the Criminal Code, Cap 34, Vol. II, Laws of Osun State, 2002.
But the accused per- located beside Osun State/ sons pleaded not guilty to the charges levelled for hearing.
Defence counsel, T.B Ayodele prayed the court to admit the accused per sons to bail on a liberal term, noting that they are presumed innocent until the contrary is proven.
In his ruling, the presid ing Magistrate, Abayomi Ajala, admitted the ac cused persons to bail in the sum of N1,000,000 and a surety each.
The case was ad journed till June 6 for hearing.
