Some individuals under the guise of Concerned Members of Staff and Parents have petitioned the Osun State Government over allegations of gross misconduct of Akinorun Grammar School Principal, Mrs. Abidoye Teresa Funmilola.

The petition was titled, ‘Report of intimidation, abuse of office, conversion of E.T.L. education levies’ – dated May 20, 2022, and the commissioner for Education, Ministry of Education; Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Education; Executive Secretary, TESCOM, and others were copied.

The individuals called the attention of Governor Gboyega Oyetola of Osun State to the alleged rot and abnormality taking place in “almost all the public schools in Osun State. It is worst in our school where Mrs. Abidoye Teresa Funmilola is the Principal.”

The principal was accused of diverting Education Trust Levies (E.T.L.) funds meant for the development of the school and students’ levies to her personal account.

“We are aware of her two accounts in Wema Bank, one in United Bank for Africa (UBA) and another one in Polaris Bank which she uses to divert the student levies and this will be exposed when all the accounts are linked to her.

“The government will detect big fraud she had committed with E.T.L. fund and other various donations into the school, particularly the school alumni.”

“We call the attention of the government through the Ministry of Education to the ongoing falsification of age to be able to meet the new increment of age of retirement of teachers.

“Mrs Abidoye boldly told some of the staff to immediately begin to doctor their age and year of service as she said she had done before. She has reduced her age by presently using affidavit of age declaration, instead of birth certificate she used for her appointment as a teacher.

“For the government to expose this, her first primary school certificate should be asked for and her first letter of appointment. The Government will get the real fact of falsification of age.”

“The reason for voicing out against her falsification of age is the type of advice she is giving to others to do same so as to deceive government and finally defrauded governemnt.

Contacting the Executive Secretary of Osun State Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM), Omolola Sangolana said the commission received the petition but it is expecting an order from the governor to treat it.

According to her, the petition was sent to the governor but the commission was copied.

“We received the petition during the campaign and it has not been treated. We are expecting an order because the petition was sent to the governor,” she said.

While Speaking to our Correspondent on phone, Mrs Abidoye Teresa Funmilola confirmed receipt of the petition.

She said: “Yes I received the petition and I have responded and sent to the Ministry of Education.”

When further pressed to state some of of the points she raised in her response, she said: “The PS Ministry of Education is aware of this indictment or allegations and I cannot speak with you until they give me order to speak if they order me from the ministry, I will.
