A grassroots politician and prominent son of Iree town, Boripe Local Government Area has called on Governor Ademola Adeleke and leaders of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) to consider appointing indigenes of the ancient kingdom to political positions in the state.

Hon. Abiodun Ajayi [Oluomo and Sons]also wants the state government to consider and capture the locality in its ‘1.5km Lenght Roads Construction Initiative’ designed to improve infrastructure in all local councils across Osun.

In a statement signed by Hon. Abiodun Ajayi, on behalf of concerned stakeholders, the PDP stalwart lamented that despite the town’s significant contributions to the state’s development, its sons and daughters have been marginalized by the current administration.

Ajayi highlighted the kingdom’s overwhelming support for the PDP during the last State and National elections, emphasizing that appointing its indigenes to political positions would be a step towards inclusive governance and development.

“We urge Governor Adeleke and PDP leaders to consider the numerous qualified and dedicated sons and daughters of Iree for political appointments.

“Our people have been loyal and supportive of the government, and it’s time for us to be given a chance to serve in positions of leadership,” the statement read

The astute politician added that PDP members in the area are unhappy over the exclusion of their home town in road development in Osun State and some various developmental activities of government.

He lauded the efforts of Governor Ademola Adeleke, while appealing to him to extend his good works to Iree and other communities within Boripe North LCDA.

“We believe that this gesture will not only be a reward for our loyalty and hard work but also a catalyst for the growth and progress of Iree and the state at large,” the statement concluded.
