The Executive Secretary of the National Sugar Development Council (NSDC), Mr Zacch Adedeji, has congratulated the governor of Nasarawa State and chairman of the Forum of Governors of Sugar Producing States, Abdullahi Sule on his reelection in the state.

Adedeji, according to a statement by NSDC’s head of the public affairs unit, Abdullahi Yunusa, described Abdullahi’s victory in the keenly contested election as an indication that he has the love and support of his people.

While expressing the council’s gratitude to the people of Nasarawa State who came out in large numbers to vote for Governor Sule, Adedeji noted that the governor has now been allowed to consolidate and carry on with his “New Nasarawa” development agenda.

He observed that the agenda has contributed to the state’s economic, industrial and agricultural development in the last four years.

Adedeji in a congratulatory letter to Governor Sule, which he signed, expressed the hope that Governor Sule would bring his enormous wealth of experiences and competence to bear, especially as it relates to the development of the agro-allied sector, which he said is so dear to him, given his understanding of the sector.

“On behalf of the Board, management, staff and friends of the National Sugar Development Council, I wish to congratulate and rejoice with you and members of your team on your well-deserved victory in the recently concluded governorship election.

“Your resounding victory in the keenly contested election is a testament to the fact that you are truly loved and appreciated by your people, whom you have been working for in the last four years,” the letter read in part.

“Governor Sule is a man of new ideas, a great thinker, and an exemplary leader. He and his governor-colleagues who form the Forum of Governors of Sugar-Producing States are instrumental to some modest achievements recorded in the sector in the last four years.

“The council values the inputs of the Forum, which the governor serves as the chairman. We are confident that he would continue to do his best to make Nasarawa State the envy of other states in the country,” the letter read in part.
