Super Eagles of Nigeria beat Egypt in their first match at the ongoing African Cup of Nations, AFCON opening match courtesy of a first half cracker in Group D.
Nigeria beat the Mo Salah led Egypt team which has won the tournament for a record seven times to go on top of the group. Playing under the temporary coach, Augustine Eguavon, the Nigeria team played with a sort of purpose that was never seen under the sacked Gernat Rohr.
The Nigerian team completely dominated the match and the 1-0 score in the opinion of some did not reflect the tide of the game as Nigerians threw away several chances.
