Severin Luthi, former coach of Roger Federer, said in a recent interview that the Swiss Maestro would have played until he was 100 if he could have.Roger’s countryman coached Federer from 2007 until Federer’s career ended in 2022.In an interview with Blick, Luthi: “He enjoys life after his career.

He’s always been a world champion at making the best of a situation, cheerful and positive as he is. He can now focus on other things: on the family, building the house, his foundation and the sponsors. He no longer has the stress of building up tension before tournaments.

I’m sure he’ll appreciate that. Because tennis itself was never the problem. He probably would have played to 100 if he could have. What if Roger invited me to go with him on a trip? Yes, he asked me if I wanted to accompany him.

We are still connected through other things as well. Through the sponsor Uniqlo, for example. Or the Laver Cup. And this year we have already met twice in Dubai. Once when I was on vacation there.”

Also Ivan Ljubicic also talked about Federer

Ivan Ljubicic gave a curious interview to Tennis Majors, thus returning to talk about the Swiss champion.

The Croatian coach, alongside the 41-year-old from Basel from 2016 to 2022, revealed how he learned that the winner of 20 Grand Slam titles intended to retire permanently from tennis. He explained: “It was a phone call but it didn’t come out of nowhere.

For some time we doubted he would ever come back but there was silence. I didn’t know what to say, it was a very difficult moment. I felt his pain, so I tried to comfort him as much as possible. But again it wasn’t a surprise, we all thought he’d be there sooner rather than later.”The big revelation about what could stop King Roger: “The only way to stop him was for the body not to be able to continue.

He loves tennis so much that there was no way he made the decision to stop playing because he didn’t want to anymore. It was never going to happen. It was the only way to stop him. His skill didn’t diminish and his physical condition, perhaps over time, slowed it down a bit, but his genius still kept him on top.

The start was tough because in the second tournament he injured his meniscus and underwent his first operation. But at the same time, looking back, maybe it was lucky for us to have time to work and get to know each other even better.

Sure, I’ve had awkward moments where people thought I was hired because I was their friend and stuff like that. But of course he was happy that the results were coming.”
