Nigerian music star, Gabriel Oche Amanyi, fondly known as Terry G, has tackled his colleagues for allegedly ignoring him when he needed them most.
The Apako master expressed sadness over how all his efforts to reach out to some of his colleagues during his tough times proved abortive, as no one was responding to him.
In a series of posts via Instagram, Terry G reminded his colleagues how he was there for them when they came to him for help.
“You will write to your fellow artiste, e no go respond. When everybody came to G, they received hits.
“We don’t have to die to be remembered and celebrated. We all contribute to the global music library of sounds. Just in case. I am back. Thank you for the wait,” he wrote in a combination of pidgin and English.
Expressing his frustration further, the singer in a now viral video, said: “But this isn’t fair na, you will write to your fellow artist, he wouldn’t respond. Make una remember, when it was in my time, you all came to me and I gave you guys hits.
“Now I am chatting you guys up, you don’t want to respond. Is it until I die before you guys would do remembrance for me? Na so Nigerian music be, make una reason am oo.”
Daily Trust reports that Terry G ruled the airwaves in the early 2000s.
He is widely known for his eccentric dress-sense, controversial lyrics and awkward identity.
‘Free Madness’ is one of his most well-known songs.
In 2013, he released his fourth album, titled ‘Book of Ginjah.’
