Two frontline contenders for the presidency in 2023, Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress, APC, and Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, met on Monday.
Tinubu and Atiku bumped into each other at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Airport in Abuja.
Also present during the meeting was the embattled PDP National Chairman, Iyorchia Ayu.
This was disclosed by a former PDP presidential aspirant and a veteran journalist, Dele Momodu.
Sharing a photograph of the trio via Twitter, Momodu wrote: “JUST IN, @atiku, TINUBU and @iyorchiayu meet at the airport VVIP lounge in Abuja.”
The camps of Tinubu and Atiku have been at loggerheads since last week as the race for the 2023 presidency heats up.
To this end, Tinubu asked Atiku to step down and endorse him for the 2023 presidential poll.
He stated this when he met with leaders from the northern part of the country under the umbrella of Arewa Joint Committee for an interactive session on Monday.
The interactive session took place at the Arewa House in Kaduna.
