Chelsea have again been offered the chance to sign Cristiano Ronaldo from Manchester United.
Ronaldo’s agent, Jorge Mendes made contact with Chelsea over a transfer for the former Real Madrid and Juventus superstar.
Chelsea are in need of a frontman and Ronaldo is desperate to play for a club in the Champions League this season.
Mendes had held talks with Blues co-owner Todd Boehly earlier in late July but Blues manager, Thomas Tuchel was said to have been reluctant to give a green light
Chelsea were about to sign Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang from Barcelona but the deal fell through with the Catalan side demanding around £30m for the 33-year-old they signed for free just six months ago.
Mendes has now returned with Ronaldo with time running out in the window and Chelsea scrambling to strengthen.
The report on Metro adds that the Chelsea boss still has the same reservations over signing the Portugal international, Ronaldo, but it remains to be seen if the German’s resolve has been weakened by the fact that the club have failed to strengthen.
