Napoli’s president, Aurelio de Laurentiis, has said he is aware the club’s key frontman, Victor Osimhen, is leaving at the end of the season.
The SSC Napoli president was reacting to Osimhen’s recent claim that he “already made a decision” on his future.
Osimhen, who is currently on international duty with Nigeria at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, recently signed a contract extension with the current Serie A champions.
The contract reportedly includes a clause in the region of €120–€130 million.
The 25-year-old has continuously been linked with Premier League clubs, including Chelsea and Arsenal. Real Madrid, Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain are all said to be interested in the player.
Osimhen recently said he knew where he would be playing his football next season.
“We knew that, otherwise, talks over a new deal would not have been that long,” the Napoli chief told reporters on Friday.
“Probably last summer he was gonna join Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain or an English club.”
