Alhaja Hajarat Amoke Akinleye fondly known as ‘Iya Joko’ was born in 1934 to Late Baba Bello and Mama Asimonwu Adewumi, Jokotade Compound, Ede.
She was a major trader of many agricultural produces, she started learning trading at a very tender age, under the leadership of her mother who was a trader of cola-nut and palm-oil.
In 1959, she married to Late Baba Zakariyah Atoyebi Akinleye Olohunde, Apena Compound, Ede. The marriage was blessed with 8 children; among are Mr Surajudeen Olatiloye Akinleye, Ismail Morakinyo Akinleye Alhaji Kazeem Kolapo Akinleye, who is the current Chief of Staff to the Osun State Governor, His Excellency, Asiwaju of Ede Land, Senator Nurudeen Jackson Ademola Adeleke, Ganiyat Asani Akinleye, Asimiyu Atanda Akinleye , Baliamin Kolawole Akinleye ,Suliyat Asake Akinleye, Selim Adewale Akinleye with grand children and great grand children.
Alhaja Hajarat was known to be patient, religious, peace loving and intelligent. Her character left both the Young and the Old, from far and near in grief when the news of her death was broken.
