Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk faced each other for the unification of the heavyweight belts with a resounding win for the Ukrainian in one of the biggest pay-per-view matches for both fighters.

This is due to the million-dollar contracts and the number of people who purchased the pay-per-view on May 18.

After the final count, Fury and Usyk added more than six zeros to their bank accounts in dollars.

How much did Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk earn?

According to the Daily Mirror website, Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk, who put on one of the most-watched boxing fights in history, both reportedly made millions.

Although Fury was the loser, he was the winner in the purse with 100 million dollars, while the Ukrainian triumphed in the ring but lost in the bank with just 45 million.

After 12 rounds of fighting, the judges, by split decision, determined Usyk as the winner. It was in the ninth round that the Ukrainian did the most damage to his opponent.

“If you told Tyson Fury that he’s going to make 100 million dollars, he would really get angry because he thinks, and I think he’s right, that he’s going to make a lot more. I don’t know the number, but it’s a lot more than 100 million dollars,” promoter Bob Arum said, confessing that the Brit still aspired to make more.

Since they signed the contract with the promoters, they agreed that the Briton would earn 70 per cent of the total amount, while the Ukrainian would earn only 30 per cent.

In the sporting sense it does not seem fair, as Usyk came out on top even though he received much less money.
