Jubilations erupted in Iree, Boripe North Local Council Development Area of Osun State on Monday, as the state Executive Council approved the appointment of Oba Ademola Oluponnle Rapheal of Oyekun Ruling House as the new Aree of Ireeland.
Immediately the news of the approval filtered the town, youths, students, artisans, market women, transporters and okada riders among others stormed the streets in jubilations.
It was gathered that the entire community was at a standstill, as travellers passing through the town were caught up in a trafic gridlock caused by the jubilants residents of the town.
Oba Ademola, born on November 24, 1973 succeeds the late Aree of Iree, Oba Jimon Olayonu who joined his ancestors in July 8, 2018, but the vacant stool could not be filled in the last four years as a result of litigations from different ruling houses.
The Aaree elect has Higher National Diploma (HND) in Accountancy from Osun State Polytechnic Iree, and he is currently the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officers of Arise and Shine Global Energy Nigeria Limited, an oil and gas company in Lagos State.
News from Iree indicated that the newly approved Aree of Iree has entered the town in a convoy amidst jubilations, as he acknowledged cheers by residents of the people.
He was received by traditionalists at the entrance of the palace and was subsequent led to the Asalu Deity shrine where necessary rites are being carried out as at the time of filing this reports.
