The AIG Women’s Open is about to begin this Thursday, August 10th at the Walton Health Golf Club in Surrey England, and the anticipation is palpable around the LPGA and LET circuits.

The press conferences for the event are underway and several golfers are sharing their thoughts on the field and gameplay. Olympic gold medalist, Nelly Korda, has a particularly enlightening approach to the game and her peers, before the event sets off.

Nelly Korda shares her honest opinion about her peer
Charley Hull is playing in her homeland and fans are excited to see if she will win the title. Her peer and World number 1, Nelly Korda, shared her beautiful sentiment about the English golfer during the AIGWO press conference.

The younger Korda sister said, “I love Charley — she’s so much fun to be around. I love playing with her. I’ve played a couple of practice rounds with her. We’re pretty friendly.” She also praised Hull’s game tremendously, calling her a “fast player.”

Evidently, Korda loves playing with the former Rookie of the Year winner. The two players came off a close challenge only a month ago on the LET Tour. The American golfer also fondly said that the English pro has a fun and nice personality; she really enjoys that.

begin in England, the 25-year-old golfer also added, “She’s going to be a fan favorite here so I’m sure we’ll have home crowds cheering for her loud.”

Korda’s kind words about the 27-year-old golfer before the last Major Tournament on the LPGA-LET Calendar, were heart-warming and symbolic of good sportsmanship.

Korda and Hull’s spectacular finish at the Aramco Team Series in London
Charley Hull had a substantial lead at the team event on her home grounds when Korda emerged with a spectacular play against wind and storms to emerge victorious. The American golfer was World no. 2 at the time, when she battled the circumstances and put her individual game at 11-under par.

The English golfer finished 5 shots behind Korda despite shooting three birdies in the front nine during the final round. “I knew Charley [Hull] was going to make a run for it,” Korda said according to BBC. The competition was fierce but the 2021 Women’s PGA Championship winner had set a comfortable distance between her and the 3-time LET winner so she took home the individual title at the Laguna National Golf Resort Club. Hull finished second with a 7-under par.
