Chairman of Ede South Local Government Area of Osun State, Hon. Lukman Afolabi has assured workers of the council his resolve to prioritize their welfare.
The council chairman made this known will addressing the workers at an Inter-religious prayer held on Monday at the council secretariate to begin the 2024 working year.
Afolabi, who appreciated the unflinching support his administration received from the workers in 2023 also enjoined them to continue in that spirit in 2024.
The chairman, who acknowledged that he was aware that the removal of fuel subsidy by the federal government has affected the living standard of the workers stressed “we will all overcome this challenge.”
Speaking on the aggressive developmental projects going on across the state embarked upon by the Governor Ademola Adeleke administration, Afolabi said the move was unprecedented which needs all workers to join hands with the state government to achieve the goals.
He said Ede South Local Government under his leadership has benefited in primary health care centres rehabilitation, school rehabilitation, construction of roads including dualization of Akoda to Oke-Gada road.
He lauded all directions, head of departments of the council for their commitment in ensuring that he enjoys a smooth administration since he assumed office.
While delivering his speech, Ede South Head of Local Government Administration, Prince Adewale Adedapo commended the chairman for displaying workers friendly administration.
He promised to continue in supporting the chairman for the good of all just as he enjoined workers to be diligent in their duties.
