Super Eagles striker, Victor Osim- hen, has said the main target of the team is to regain the trust and support of the national team’s fans starting with the game against Sierra Leone this weekend.
Speaking during a media day out at the team’s Eko Hotel camp, the Napoli striker said the fans are no longer happy with the team after the disappointment of the World Cup, but said they must try their best to qualify first and then play well in Cote d’Ivoire.
“We have a very big chance of winning but there are a lot of obstacles on our way,” he said. “But we have to get a win on Sunday, which will secure qualification for the next AFCON, it is not going to be easy, they are a good side, but the target for us is the maxi- mum of three points, it is not going to be easy but we have the quality to execute the game, and we are looking forward to the game.
“We have to work to- wards collectively achieving our dream, one man cannot make a team, we have to work together as a team, we want to bring our fans back. “We know they are dis- appointed in us and that’s normal, but we will keep on working so hard to get their trust back, the next AFCON is a good opportunity for us to get them back to our side.”
