The Special Adviser to the Governor on Cooperatives and Empowerment, Hon. Durojaye Isaac, has extended a heartfelt wishes and congratulations to all children in Osun State in commemoration of World Children’s Day anniversary, May 27, 2025.

Children’s Day celebration was initiated by UNICEF and adopted by United Nations on November 20, 1959 when the UN General Assembly adopted the Declaration of the Rights of the Child.

It is marked in Nigeria on May 27 annually, dedicated to celebrating children and for adults to remember their childhood experiences.

Durojaye, in in a statement on Tuesday to commemorate world children’s day, emphasized the significance of providing a supportive and safe environment for every child to thrive.

“Children are the bedrock of our future. It is our duty to ensure they receive the best care, education, and opportunities to reach their full potential.”

The Special Adviser also called for increased support for initiatives aimed at improving children’s welfare in Osun State. He highlighted the need for collaborative efforts between government, non-governmental organizations, and the community to create a conducive environment for children’s growth and development.

He described them as leaders of tomorrow and also urged them to believe in the possibility of a great and prosperous Nigeria.

Urging Nigerian leaders to rededicate themselves to the cause of the children, Durojaye said, It is time for Nigerian leaders to quit the lip-service to children’s issues and begin to make their welfare and development a priority.

“Children all over the world are regarded as the future of their countries and great pains are taken to ensure their physical, mental and social well-being”.

“The greatest investment that any nation can make in its future is in its children and Osun State under the leadership of Governor Ademola Adeleke is doing well to embrace this global reality,” he said.

“The proper upbringing of children is an important responsibility. Giving them the best care that we can afford, as is done in all serious countries, should not be optional.”

While praising the efforts of teachers, parents, and caregivers who play a crucial role in shaping the lives of young ones, he urged, “Let us all work together to build a brighter future for our children, by investing in their education and well-being, we are investing in the future of our state.”

“Although, the economic situation in the country is grim, parents must go the extra mile to nurture, educate, mentor and guide their children to thrive in our increasingly competitive world where knowledge is the key” he added.
