The Osun Progressives (TOP), a Caucus of the All Progressives Congress has urged journalists to continue to be dispassionate in carrying out their duties saying it exemplifies the ethics of the profession.

In a solidarity message to the Nigerian journalists on the occasion of the “World Press Day” the Osun Progressives noted that they should not fall prey to fake and charlatans who are bent on destroying the profession.

Chairman of the Caucus, Elder Lowo Adebiyi said it is only by standing behind the truth always that journalists can earn their place in societal anal.

Elder Adebiyi stated that he will be singling Osun journalists out for their worthwhile performance in the practice of developmental journalism said whatever is achieved by the progressive governments that has been in place in over ten years can not be put beyond their noble dispassionate-ss.

He stated that it was their dispassionate attitude that brought out the rot and decay in the PDP government leading to the party’s rejection at polls.

It was the same dispassionateness that endeared the manifesto of former Governor Rauf Aregbesola to the people thus ensuring he won the 2007 governorship election overwhelmingly and eventually won the prolonged tribunal.

Elder Adebiyi who noted that the Osun journalists remained well regarded within the Progressives noted the dispassionate reportage of the 8 year Aregbesola government, endeavouring to highlight the highs and the lows and still able to score that government pass mark.

He urged them not to relent is their good work, especially with the present Progressives government so as to sustain the established momentous development in Osun.
