...as his Alma mater receives tables and chairs
No fever than 100 motorists of Iragbiji in Boripe Local Government Area of Osun last weekend benefited from the benevolence of the Special Adviser to Governor Adegboyega Oyetola on Works and Transport, Engr. Olatoke Hussein Olaniyan as he put smile into their faces through his empowerment gestures.
Over 100 motorists had on Saturday received free fuel at a designated filling station while a brown new motorcycle was equally doled out to members of okada unions in the ancient town.
Similarly, tables and chairs donated to the pupils of Local Authority Primary School 1, Popo Iragbiji were launched by Kabiesi the Aragbiji of Iragbiji Oba AbdurRasheed Ayotunde Olabomi as part of his contribution to the development of his Alma mater.
Handing over the furniture facility to the management of the school to commemorate the annual celebration of Popo Youth Forum Carnival, Olaniyan expressed gratitude to God for counting him worthy of being part of the development of the school.
Olaniyan who noted that the gesture was in line with the Development Agenda of his principal said, giving back to the school that produced him was a thing of joy.
He said the gesture would go a long way at complementing the tremendous achievements recorded by the Oyetola led Administration on education sector.
“Since government could not do the work alone, it is the responsibility of everyone to contribute to make things much better for one’s Alma mater.
“It is actually a thanksgiving day for everyone of us today because it is neither by our strength nor our wisdom that we are present here.
“As an old student of this school that had benefited greatly, I will continue to give back to the school that is the essence of this particular gesture,” he added.
Olaniyan who urged members of Popo Youth Forum to continue to strive hard in order to move the town forward appealed to the youths in the State to show more interest in politics saying “this will help you to contribute more to the society.”
He also enjoined members of the Forum to work in unison towards achieving the aims and objectives of the association just as he implored them to start mobilizing support for the second term ambition of Governor Oyetola.
Recall that the donor had three weeks ago, distributed over 30 bags of rice to churches, wards, chiefs and vulnerable in Iragbiji.
Speaking at the occasion, the Aragbiji of Iragbiji, Oba Abdul-Rasheed Ayotunde Olabomi lauded Olaniyan’s gesture which he described as a round peg in a round hole.
He urged others to follow suit and double their efforts at ensuring regular and prompt delivery of dividends of democracy to their people.
