Former members of the House of Representatives in the South-West geopolitical zone between 1992-1993 gathered in Osogbo the Osun State capital on Saturday for discussions aimed at the progress of the affected politicians.

At the meeting the affected members of the House of Representatives from Osun, Ogun, Oyo, Ondo, Ekiti and Lagos State congratulated President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on his one year anniversary saying he had done well within this shortest period of his assumption in office while appealing to Mr President to also work assiduously on agricultural sector, production and exportation in order to generate dollars to battle the current upsurge in foreign exchange

Recalls that during the immediate past administration of President Mohammed Buhari that he paid all the entitlement of late Chief MKO Abiola and his running mate then, Ambassador Baba Gana Kingibe who are the Executive, while National Honour was also given to them.

The politicians said, according to Mariam Webster, “What is good for the goose is also good for the gander”, the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu must also treat them the way President Buhari treated the Executive arm, while their own is equally the same legislative arm of 1993 victim.

The spokesperson of the affected politicians,Rt Hon John Fasogbon who represented Ife central Federal Constituency during this period and subsequently represented Ife Federal Constituency in 2003 to 2007and 2007 to 2011.while speaking with newsmen at the meeting said believe of their contemporaries from others Geo-Polititical zones was that we are in good position to speak and appeal to President Tinubu over the payment of our benefits because Mr President himself was part of us in the third Republic Senate and from the same South -West zone.

“Our meeting of today was just to appeal to our dear amiable President Tinubu who is a listening and caring leader on the payment of our entitlement for the period of 1992-1993 when we were at the Federal House of Representatives serving our dear Country meritoriously and Mr President was also at the Senate.

“Some of us have died when there was no hope again while some are currently in hospital nursing one ailments or the other while some are in abject poverty completely, Sir, we are appealing to you as our father and leader from the same kingdom to please attend to our plight before it is too late. We are solidly behind your administration and we pray that you will not fail.

“We also viewed the situation with all seriousness that we were the sacrificial lamb for the current democracy in the country in which many of us have died without any benefit while we that remaining is by the grace of God.

“Past administration of President Buhari has done his part to the executive arm while we are appealing to the present administration of our own Bola Ahmed Tinubu to attend to the legislatives arm of third Republic who were duly elected but sacked without any benefit” Hon Fasogbon concluded.
