The pickleball circuit, like that of paddleball, is expanding in the United States. You only have to look at the fact that Eugenie Bouchard will be joining the Carvana PPA pickleball tour starting next year.
The Canadian, who became a household name in 2014 when she was a semifinalist at the Australian Open and Roland Garros and a finalist at Wimbledon, is looking for alternatives in another racket sport.
Ranked 215th in the WTA, she will look to expand her horizons next year. Pickleball continues to grow in popularity and the PPA tour, which was founded in 2018, consists of 25 tournaments a year across 14 states.
However, prize money is small compared to what is offered in tennis, with the largest purse available being about $300,000.
