In 2017, Canadian tennis professional Genie Bouchard joined a group of pro tennis players to grace the pages of the SI Swimsuit Issue.
The 29-year-old traveled to Turks and Caicos with fellow professional players Serena Williams and Caroline Wozniacki for her debut with the brand.
Between the bright waters and her neon swimwear, the photoshoot was vibrant and colorful, especially in contrast to the edgier feature that she posed for in the following year.
In 2018, the athlete returned for her second consecutive feature in the magazine. But this time, she ditched her bright swimsuits for a series of moody, black numbers that popped against the bright backdrop of Aruba’s beaches.
The trip featured edgy outdoor activities, including scaling rocks and posing on black four wheelers in the desert, to match her moodier aesthetic. And she absolutely rocked it.
Bouchard expressed her gratitude for the opportunity to return to the issue in an Instagram post at the time. “2 years in a row!!!” she wrote.
“Thank you @mj_day @darciebaum and the whole team at SI, love you guys & all the craziness we get up to. So grateful for your love ❤️🙏🏼 #SISwim.”
Five years later, the Montreal native continues to play professional tennis, and is embarking on new athletic venture, as well.
In the fall, she announced that the New Year will see another racquet sport added to her repertoire: pickleball. She will be joining the PPA Pickleball Tour in addition to continuing her professional tennis play.
But, rather than focusing on her athleticism on the court, today we’re taking a look back at her impressive skill on the beaches of Aruba. Here are some of her stunning photos from the trip.
