A professional group, Osun Education Forum has commended Governor Ademola Adeleke for revoking alleged approval given to a private developer to build an estate on a disputed land belonging to the Osogbo Technical College.
In a statement signed by the group Secretary General, Adesope Adejuwon, the group appreciated the courage and patriotism displayed by Governor Adeleke, supporting the Governor’s position that building an estate on school land is not a good optic to a public spirited administration like the Adeleke administration.
“The re-acquired school land should be used for educationally related projects. The state should submit a tech hub proposal to TETFUND and other funders”, the group suggested.
The group further implored Mr Governor to ensure that all legal disputes on the land are resolved as quickly as possible.
The group suggested the holding of a stakeholder meeting on the issue to ensure out of court settlement and decisions on educational application of the college land.
“Our Forum commends Mr Governor. We know he would not have supported such an anri-education action as an estate on school land. We urge him to continue to be the voice of the people and public interest”, the group stated.
The group urged top state officials to always emphasis public interest rather than private gains in their decisions and actions, adding “we are proud of Governor Adeleke for upholding public rather than private interests in public governance”
