Court Remands Man Over Land Dispute and Threat to Life

A Chief Magistrate’s Court in Osogbo has ordered the remand of 49-year-old Agunbiade Tomilayo for allegedly threatening a man’s life and encroaching on his farm land.

Tomilayo was arraigned on Tuesday on five counts of threat to life, encroachment, and conduct likely to cause breach of peace.

According to the prosecution, ASP Dopamu Olukayode, the defendant forcibly entered the farm land of Pastor Idowu Amos and threatened him with a cutlass, causing fear for his safety.

The offense is said to contravene Section 86 of the Criminal Code Cap 34 Vol. II Laws of Osun State of Nigeria, 2002.

Tomilayo pleaded not guilty to the charges, represented by his counsel, Mr. K.A Adepoju.

Chief Magistrate O.A Daramola ordered Tomilayo’s remand at Ilesha Correctional Center and transferred the case to Ilesha, adjourning it till February 17, 2026, for mention.
