Oyo Govt Declares Curfew in 10 LGAs Over Security Concerns

The Oyo State Government has approved the imposition of a 16-hour curfew in 10 local government areas bordering the Old Oyo National Park as part of measures to address security concerns in the areas.

The curfew, approved by Governor Seyi Makinde, takes effect from Wednesday, June 24, 2026, and will run from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 a.m. daily for an initial period of 48 hours.

A memo issued by the Secretary to the Oyo State Government, Professor Musibau Babatunde, stated that the restriction affects local government areas located around the Old Oyo National Park.

The affected local government areas are:
Oriire Local Government (Headquarters: Ikoyi-Ile)
Oorelope Local Government (Headquarters: Igboho)
Irepo Local Government (Headquarters: Kisi)
Saki West Local Government (Headquarters: Saki)
Saki East Local Government (Headquarters: Ago-Amodu)
Atisbo Local Government (Headquarters: Tede)
Itesiwaju Local Government (Headquarters: Otu)
Iseyin Local Government (Headquarters: Iseyin)
Olorunsogo Local Government (Headquarters: Igbeti)
Atiba Local Government (Headquarters: Offa-Meta)
