Omo Aje Denies Sending Anyone to Invite Rogba Before His Death, Seeks Justice Through Due Process

The Personal Assistant to Hon. Busayo Oluwole Oke, popularly known as Omo Aje, has denied allegations linking him to the death of the late Ajayi Aderogba, popularly known as Rogba, describing the claims circulating in a viral video as false, baseless, and politically motivated.

Speaking with journalists in Osogbo, Omo Aje said the deceased was not only someone he knew but also a close family member, making the allegations against him particularly painful.

“Ajayi Aderogba was my cousin. His mother is my cousin, and I have always maintained a cordial relationship with both his parents and Rogba himself. His death is not only a loss to the community but also a personal loss to me and my family,” he said.

According to him, political differences never affected their relationship, as they remained in regular contact and respected each other’s political choices.

“Rogba and I had unrestricted access to one another. We never needed any intermediary before we met or spoke. We discussed several issues in the past, including politics. He made his political decisions, and I respected them because politics is temporary, but family remains forever,” he stated.

To further demonstrate the closeness of their relationship, Omo Aje disclosed that he purchased a motorcycle for the deceased last year after Rogba informed him that he needed one to improve his livelihood.

“That is the kind of relationship we had. I supported him whenever I could. Anyone who truly knew us understands there was no animosity between us,” he added.

Responding to allegations that he instructed the Esa-Oke Youth Leader, Oladapo Olakunle, to invite the deceased on the day of the incident, Omo Aje described the claim as completely unfounded.

“I never sent anybody to bring Rogba to me. There was absolutely no reason to do so because we communicated directly whenever the need arose. Those who know our relationship can attest to this fact,” he said.

He also dismissed attempts to link Hon. Busayo Oluwole Oke to the incident, arguing that implicating individuals without credible evidence could politicize the matter and divert attention from ongoing investigations.

Omo Aje further expressed disappointment over what he alleged were attempts to influence the deceased’s widow into making accusations that lacked factual basis.

“I sympathize deeply with the family over this painful loss and understand the emotional trauma they are going through. However, grief should never become a basis for making allegations without evidence. I sincerely hope that no one exploits this tragedy to score political points or malign innocent people,” he said.

Reaffirming his confidence in law enforcement agencies, Omo Aje maintained that he has nothing to hide and is willing to cooperate fully with investigators.

“I am a law-abiding citizen. I have never been involved in criminality, cultism, or any act of violence. My conscience is clear, and I will honour any invitation from the Police or any security agency investigating this matter,” he stated.

He called on the Nigeria Police Force and other relevant security agencies to conduct a thorough, professional, and impartial investigation, free from political interference or public pressure.

“The memory of Rogba deserves justice, not propaganda. Rather than engaging in speculation or character assassination, let us allow the security agencies to carry out a comprehensive investigation. I remain confident that the truth will prevail,” he said.

Omo Aje also appealed to political stakeholders and members of the public to refrain from making inflammatory statements capable of prejudicing ongoing investigations, stressing that justice can only be achieved through facts, credible evidence, and due process—not through media trials or politically motivated accusations.

Police authorities have yet to publicly respond to the allegations and counterclaims at the time of filing this report, while investigations into the circumstances surrounding Ajayi Aderogba’s death are said to be ongoing.
