Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke has inaugurated a computer based examination centre of 275 seating capacity in Ibokun, the headquarters of Obokun Local Government Area.

Adeleke commended the project initiator Major General Adetokunbo Fayemiwo, who is equally the Chief of Account and Budget of the Armed Forces for his complementary efforts in the educational development of the state.

While also commending him along with other top officers for endorsing the siting of the project in Osun State, he equally gave him kudos for deepening civil/military relations in the country.

Adeleke, who was represented by his Deputy Prince Kola Adewusi disclosed that Osun State is blessed with an array of federal intervention projects across all sectors of human endeavours, noting that this has indeed added value to the development agenda of his government.

According to him, ” it is such a pleasant coincidence that most interventions often complement state efforts and fit into state plans in education, health and infrastructural development “.

The state helmsman used the occasion to unveil his laudable plans of reviving the nine computer centres located in schools across the nine federal constituencies of Osun.

He then revealed that a team of educational technocrats has been inaugurated to fashion out workable ideas on technological assisted learning methodology in the education sector of the state, with the major aim of ensuring optimum and qualitative performance of the sector.

Adeleke however charged all ministries, departments and agencies (MDAs) of government in the state to adequately relate with the bodies responsible for implementing the project in order to ensure seamless operation, collaboration and continued maintenance of the project.

Earlier in his remarks, the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Faruk Yahaya applauded the people of Osun State for their friendly and great display of Omoluabi virtues towards the guests.

He maintained that people of the state are well known for their peace, virtuous and hospitable tendencies, emphasizing that this, no doubt, has been reflecting in their mutual and peaceful coexistence.

In his assessment of the project, the Chief of Army Staff rated the project very high based on the uncompromising standard of its design, adding that the project is to complement the execution of other infrastructural projects across Nigeria under civil/ military cooperation.

He therefore expressed gratitude to the outgoing president, Muhammad Buhari for his persistent support to the Nigerian Army.

At the event, the ancient town of Ibokun played host to high ranking military officers who accompanied the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Farouk Yahaya. Also in attendance were royal fathers which includes , the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi (Ojaja II), the Olowu of Kuta, Oba (Dr.) Hammed Adekunle Makama as well as their host, Oba Festus Awogboro Alademure of Ibokun among others.

The disclosure was made by the Railway District Manager of NRC, Mr Aliyu Mainasara, during the unveiling of the rail line services in Bauchi during which the RDM, management team and passengers were conveyed from the Bauchi station to Inkil Community and back to the main station in Bauchi. While speaking at the occasion, Aliyu Mainasara pointed out that the Services will run from Monday to Saturday three times in a day with a token of N200 per trip from Bauchi station to Inkil Community stressing that each trip will be accompanied by security personnel to protect passengers and their belongings. According to him, "The train has the capacity of conveying between 70 to 100 passengers with comforting facilities on each trip". The RDM however said that full services will commence on Monday, September 5, 2022 with daily and monthly schedules saying that the North-Eastern district had not run a single train in the last seven years due to challenges posed by insecurity and vandalization of its tracks . The RDM stressed that, "The initiative will accord the citizens and children to test the rail services because there are people who don't have experience of rail services. With this, the children from schools would go for an excursion from Bauchi station to Inkil Community that is five kilometers from Bauchi station". He then assured that, "By the end of this year, we will extend the services to Alkaleri local government area of the state up to Gombe state respectively" . He also said that Engineers in the District are working on the tracks for the expansion of the scope of services to the Alkaleri Local Government Area of the state saying that, “The moment we fixed the tracks up to Alkaleri, believe me, we will start to run our trains as well as Gombe in the District".
