Many who have Osun’s best interest at heart noised it to the highest of heights that the state be wary of a certain character who by purchasing power and strings of violence found a spot with the richfield of aspirants. But specialists in trading their birthright like the biblical Esau, among who were the chiefs and adherents of the pseudo-progressive group called TOP felt Osun deserved the worst provided their pockets were massaged.

Even the ‘bankroller-in-chief’ of the man in question never dared to entrust the Board of Directors of his infantile higher institution into his brother’s hand. Yet, a deluded lot thought Osun deserved a man who apparently cannot differentiate between exclusive and concurrent list of government as governor. If we indeed honour the labours of our heroes past as we sing in the nation’s anthem, if we are indeed desirous of seeing the visions our Osun’s founding fathers coming to fruition, is this the kind of leader Osun needs at this critical time?

Granted, he is the ‘acting governor-elect’ as we speak, while all eyes are on the Tribunal over the inconsistencies that graced the July 16 election, but it has become critical to ask yet again: Osun, is Ademola Adeleke your choice of leader to launch the state into all-round prosperity through exceptional governance?

While we await the decision of the Tribunal based on the arguments and evidences before it, here is a reminder that a man cannot give what he does not have, a man cannot excel in the battle he has not prepared for. This perhaps explains why Dr. Akin Ogunbiyi warned from day one, “Don’t allow secondary dropout to become governor in Osun.”
