The All Progressives Congress(APC), Osun State has demanded for public apology from Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) over killing of one Tajudeen Olalekan and his pregnant in-law, Kafayat Olalekan.

PDP through its chairman, Dr Akindele Adekunle had raised alarm that Governor Adegboyega Oyetola is planning to destabilise Osun state following the death of the two family members in Ede.

Meanwhile, one of the family members of the victims who is also a member of PDP, Rukayat Olalekan maintained that the CSO designate to Adeleke, CSP Omoyele and Osun State House of Assembly minority leader, Babajide Kofoworola masterminded the killings of the two members of the family.

A statement by the Chairman of APC, Prince Gboyega Famodun through his media aide, Kola Olabisi demanded for apology from PDP over false accusation.

He said, “There is an urgent need for PDP through its caretaker chairman, Dr Akindele Adekunle, to tender an unreserved apology to Governor Gboyega Oyetola for having falsely accused him and his administration of being the masterminds of the intra-PDP squabble that claimed the lives of two people including a pregnant woman few days ago.

“Adekunle engaged in the use of propaganda and other unconventional tactics to fraudulently hold Oyetola responsible for the Ede crisis as one of the various ploys to whip up sentiment for the retention of the PDP’s pyrrhic victory absolutely failed in his ulterior mission.

“The unfolding development after the crisis expressly revealed that Oyetola and the local government chapter of the APC had nothing to do with the crisis which was purely a PDP affair of its members who were fighting over the left-over of the governorship election largesse given to Oloba Atapara Ward 1, Ede-North Local Government Council Area chapter of the PDP by Senator Ademola Adeleke who was declared the winner of the July16, 2022 governorship election in Osun State by the electoral umpire.”
