As Nigerians are celebrating the independence anniversary of the country today, the Rector of Osun State Polytechnic Iree, Comrade Kehinde Alabi has felicitated members of the polytechnic community, just as he said welfare of staff and students are his priorities.
Comrade Alabi according to a statement signed through the Institution’s Registrar, Mr Abiodun Oloyede, said
“we thank God that we are witnessing the 64th anniversary of our country, we are delighted that the country has witnessed series of developments in the last 64 years, especially in education, infrastructure, agriculture, information technology and human development. Though, the country is going through an unprecedented change in its economy, but we are optimistic that the socio-economic situation of the country will be rejuvenated.”
Alabi in the statement commended the Governing Council, management, staff, the labour unions and students of polytechnic for the relative peace that reigns in the Institution in the recent time.
He noted that the ongoing examination being conducted in a peaceful manner is a testimony to the unalloyed support his administration is receiving from members of the polytechnic community.
The Rector also assured members of Staff that their welfare is his utmost priority, assuring that his management has concluded plans to pay all allowances of the staff within the next few days.
“I can assure you that all the outstanding allowances of workers in the Institution will be paid in the next few days. We have sought the approval of the Governing Council of the Institution to ensure that the payment is done without any further delay. I appreciate the unflinching support of Chairman of the Council, Hon Diran Ayanbeku, and his amiable team for their support at ensuring that the Institution is advancing in morals and academic”, the Rector said.
He also used the occasion to commend Visitor to the Institution, Senator (Dr) Ademola Nurudeen Jackson Adeleke for the series of developmental projects embarked upon in the State and most especially in revamping the educational standard of the State.
