The toxicology report and other forensic analyses conducted in the United States of America (USA) on the late pop star, Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad, have been completed.

The autopsy report is now with the Lagos State Pathologist.

This update was provided by the Lagos State Attorney General (AG) and Commissioner for Justice, Mr Lawal Pedro (SAN), during a media briefing on the first anniversary of his administration.

He also discussed the upcoming Strategic Stakeholders Meeting with MDAs and agencies, scheduled to begin tomorrow at the Radisson Hotel, GRA, Ikeja.

In the Mohbad case, Pedro acknowledged delays in the investigation, attributing the same to the time required for thorough forensic analysis and toxicology reports.

“Forensic, analysis, toxicology — all these are part of an investigation.

“A full-proof investigation that can lead at least to conviction in a case that is presented before the courts,” he stated.

The AG explained that the forensic examinations were conducted in the USA because the Lagos DNA and Forensic Centre was destroyed during the 2022 EndSARS protests.

In another case, Pedro discussed the trial of Udeme Otike-Odibi, the female lawyer accused of murdering her husband, Symphorosa Otike-Odibi.

He noted that the case faced delays after important documents, including the case file, were destroyed when the Igbosere Court was burnt during the EndSARS protests.

The trial has now been reassigned to Justice Serifat Sonaike following the retirement of the previous judge, Justice Akintoye.

Pedro also provided updates on the case involving BRT driver Andrew Nice, who is accused of murdering fashion designer Bamishe Ayanwole.

He stated that the prosecution has closed its case against the suspect, and Andrew Nice began his defence during the last court session.
