A Nigerian cleric, Andrew John, has raised concerns over the state of the nation’s economy, suggesting that Nigeria is under some form of spiritual or unseen influence. Speaking to a small group over the weekend, John, a minister of the gospel known for his prophetic messages, expressed his views on the current challenges facing the country.

“It seems that Nigerians have been bewitched somehow, somewhere, by some unseen force,” John stated. “It is as if everyone is asleep, facing the same direction, and if care is not taken, the country could face extinction, leaving a few to occupy it for selfish purposes.”

John humorously remarked, “If we don’t know where we’re going, maybe it’s time to return to where we came from.” He drew a parallel to the government’s recent decision to revert to the old national anthem, suggesting it could be seen as a step towards cleansing the system. However, he warned that unless those responsible are willing to abandon their old ways, the effort may be in vain.

He urged leaders to take immediate action, saying, “Let us not fool ourselves; those who know they should resign must do so without hesitation, starting from the presidency.” He cited revelations indicating that divine anger is now evident, adding, “Revelation serves as a catalyst for any desired change in life.”

Quoting the Bible, John likened Nigeria’s situation to the Galatians who were asked, “Who has bewitched you?” He argued that a similar bewitchment appears to be affecting Nigerians today, rendering them “deaf and dumb,” unable to speak out openly. “If anyone speaks, it is often in hushed tones or from a biased perspective,” he noted.

The pastor also suggested an unconventional approach, advising Nigerians to “start begging President Tinubu and his cabinet rather than advocating for protests.” He argued that if the nation’s leaders have any remaining conscience, they might listen. However, if their consciences have been seared, he suggested turning to God for intervention.

Prophet John further cautioned the current government against serving any international interests that could ultimately harm them. “They could end up being part of the menu set on the table, apart from the general populace,” he warned.

Reflecting on the nation’s state of complacency, John observed, “It is unfortunate that everyone seems indifferent to the skyrocketing prices of goods.” He predicted that if caution is not exercised, an unimaginable event could occur within the next three months.

He concluded by emphasizing that all Nigerians have a role to play, whether by speaking up, remaining silent, praying, or engaging in other actions. “Do what seems best, and let’s see how it goes,” he urged.
