The Spanish teen is eager to play at the highest level.
Rising women’s tennis star Ariana Geerlings, who dropped out of the Rafael Nadal Academy, to work for her ambitions recently revealed her inspiration and who she aspires to be like on the Tour currently. Geerlings seemed confused to pick between the two current best players- Iga Swiatek and Aryna Sabalenka. Eventually, she ended up saying she wanted to be someone between the two players.
Geerlings has high hopes for herself at the senior level and want to replicate her performances from the junior circuit. She seems determined towards her goal and also has her head sorted. As the Spanish youngster was queried about her favorite players from the WTA tour, she was quick to take Sabalenka’s name and World No.1 Iga Swiatek’s.

When asked whose style of play between the two she would like to copy, Geerlings chose both. She wants to be a player who possesses the hard-hitting abilities of Sabalenka and takes initiative like Swiatek.
I like Sabalenka because she plays hard. She puts a lot of pressure on the ball. I also really like Swiatek because she tries to go up to the net and finish the points there, she takes the initiative a lot, but using spin. It would be something intermediate between the two.
Ariana Geerlings reveals her pick between Novak Djokovic and Rafael Nadal
The rising tennis sensation not only picked her favorite among the current crop of women’s tennis players but Ariana Geerlings also revealed her pick for the best men’s tennis player. The 18-year-old talked about liking all the players of the Big Three. However, her eventual pick was none other than the Spanish legend Rafael Nadal.
Geerlings admitted that on paper Novak Djokovic is the best considering he has the most number of Grand Slam titles to his credit. But she expressed her love for the way Rafael Nadal carries himself, both on and off the court.
In titles, it is Djokovic, on paper it is clear. As a player, I like Rafa more because of the way he is, both on and off the court. I also like Federer, he has an incredible talent, but I’ll stick with Rafa.
Ariana Geerlings then revealed her pick for her opponent at a Grand Slam final. The Spanish would love to face both Iga Swiatek and Aryna Sabalenka in a Grand Slam final in the future.
