Manir Dan Iya and Tambuwal

Deputy Governor Manir Muhammed Dan Iya of Sokoto has dumped his party, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Mr Muhammad delivered his letter of resignation to the head of his ward yesterday, disclosing his desire to leave the party.

He thanked the leadership for the chance to serve in several capacities without providing a reason for the withdrawal.

“I write (to) notify you of withdrawal of my membership from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) with effect from 8th February 2023,” said the resignation letter. “I appreciate the opportunities given to me, which made me serve in various capacities under the PDP.”
