Unknown gunmen on Monday, reportedly invaded Nduegu Achi community in Ohaukwu Local Government Area of Ebonyi State and killed one person.
It was gathered that the attackers equally set ablaze several houses and abducted others to an unknown destination.
DAILY POST learnt that the people of the area fled the community for fear of being killed by the gunmen.
An eyewitness, who spoke to journalists in Abakaliki, said that the gunmen invaded the community and started shooting sporadically and in the process killed one person and abducted many others.
When contacted for confirmation, the Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, Ebonyi State Command, SP Chris Anyanwu, said the command was yet to be briefed on the incident.
He promised to get details of the attack and brief newsmen on Tuesday.
