Osun 2026: ADC Candidate Unveils Manifesto, Vows Job Creation, Economic Revival

The governorship candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Osun State, Najeem Salaam, on Monday unveiled his manifesto for the 2026 governorship election, promising to create jobs, attract investments and revive the state’s economy through strategic reforms.

Speaking in Osogbo during the presentation of the policy document, Salaam described the manifesto as a blueprint developed through extensive consultations with residents across the state.

He said the document was designed to address key challenges facing Osun, including unemployment, poor infrastructure, inadequate healthcare and declining economic opportunities.

The ADC candidate said his administration would focus on workers’ welfare, agricultural development, quality education, accessible healthcare, youth empowerment, women’s inclusion and improved security.

He also pledged to promote accountable governance and create an enabling environment for businesses to thrive.

Salaam identified reliable electricity as a major catalyst for economic growth, saying his government would pursue alternative energy solutions and public-private partnerships to improve power supply and support industrialisation.

He urged residents to support his vision for the state, stressing that rebuilding Osun would require collective commitment from government, the private sector and citizens

According to him, improved electricity supply would encourage investment, boost local production and generate thousands of employment opportunities for residents.

“This manifesto is more than a collection of promises. It is a contract with the people, founded on integrity, driven by compassion and guided by a clear vision of prosperity.

“The task of rebuilding Osun belongs to all of us. Together, we can create jobs, strengthen our economy, secure our communities, modernise our infrastructure and build a government that is accountable to the people,” Salaam added.
