Wole Oke Leads as Obokun APC Inaugurates 3,000 Canvassers for Oyebamiji’s Election

The Obokun Local Government chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has inaugurated no fewer than 3,000 canvassers to mobilise support for the party’s governorship candidate, Asiwaju Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji, ahead of the forthcoming election in Osun State.

The inauguration ceremony, held in Ibokun on Friday, was spearheaded by the Director-General of the Osun APC Governorship Campaign Council, Hon. Oluwole Oke, who described the exercise as a critical step towards strengthening the party’s grassroots mobilisation efforts.

According to a statement issued by Omolebi-Sunday Segun Tunde, Senior Media Aide to Hon. Oke, the canvassers were drawn from the 100 polling units across the ten wards of Obokun Local Government, with 30 members selected from each polling unit.

The statement noted that the canvassers would be responsible for voter outreach, political awareness campaigns and dissemination of the APC’s message at the grassroots level.

Speaking at the event, the Executive Chairman of Obokun Local Government, Hon. Engr. Moruf Ogundipe, commended Oke’s leadership and described the inauguration as a significant milestone in the party’s preparations for the election.

He urged the canvassers to work diligently in promoting the candidacy of Oyebamiji across communities in the local government area.

Also speaking, Hon. Owoeye Samuel Abiodun said the selection process reflected the structured campaign strategy adopted by the APC Campaign Council.

Barrister Dupe Ajayi administered the oath of office to the canvassers and charged them to remain committed and disciplined in carrying out their assignments.

Other party leaders, including Otunba Jumoke Ogunkeyede, Hon. Rufus Oluwatayo and Hon. Ezekiel Obeisun, called on the canvassers to intensify efforts towards mobilising support for the APC candidate.

Prof. Siji Olamijulo stressed the importance of unity and effective community engagement in achieving electoral success, while Senator Francis Adenigba, in a goodwill message, pledged support for the canvassers.

In his remarks, Oke expressed satisfaction with the turnout and readiness of party members, announcing the immediate commencement of training and orientation programmes for the canvassers.

According to him, the inauguration marked the activation of a coordinated grassroots campaign structure aimed at securing victory for the APC in the forthcoming governorship election.

He added that Obokun Local Government would continue to play a leading role in the party’s statewide mobilisation efforts.
