MAOS Set to Launch National Secretariat/Legacy Hub Project, Honour Personalities

The Mass Communication Alumni Association, Osun State Polytechnic (MAOS), is set to make history as it holds the official Fundraising and Launching of the MAOS National Secretariat/Legacy Hub Project on Saturday, 4th July, 2026, at the City Dwellers Event Centre, Osogbo, Osun State.

The landmark event is expected to bring together eminent personalities from government, academia, the media, the legal profession, the business community, traditional institutions, and the alumni family to support a project designed to provide a permanent national headquarters and legacy hub for the association. The project is aimed at strengthening institutional development, promoting professional excellence, preserving the association’s heritage, and creating a sustainable platform for future generations of members.

As part of the ceremony, distinguished Nigerians who have made remarkable contributions in their respective fields and to humanity will be honoured with various merit awards. Among the award recipients are the Rector of Osun State Polytechnic, Comrade Kehinde Alabi; renowned legal practitioner, Barr. Pelumi Olajengbesin; the Founder of Vanguard Pharmacy Limited; and the Oba Jimoh Oyetunji Olanipekun, in recognition of their exemplary leadership, professional achievements, and commitment to societal development.

The event will also feature insightful presentations by notable guest speakers, including Alhaji Moshood Suleiman from the Osun State Ministry of Information and Public Enlightenment and Dr. Idowu Akinrosoye, who will speak on issues relating to communication, leadership, alumni development, and nation-building.

The Executive Governor of Osun State, Senator Ademola Adeleke, is expected as the Special Guest of Honour, while Senator Ajibola Basiru will serve as the Chief Launcher for the historic fundraising exercise.

Speaking ahead of the event, the National President of MAOS, Adekunle Sikiru (Abacus), described the project as a transformative initiative that will serve as a lasting legacy for members across Nigeria and in the diaspora. He noted that the National Secretariat/Legacy Hub would provide administrative offices, meeting facilities, archival resources, and a centre for professional networking, mentorship, capacity building, and alumni engagement.

He further called on members, friends of the association, corporate organisations, philanthropists, government agencies, and the general public to support the project through generous donations and partnerships, emphasizing that every contribution will help secure a brighter future for the association.

The National Executive Council of MAOS expressed confidence that the event would mark a significant milestone in the history of the association and reaffirm its commitment to promoting unity, professionalism, academic excellence, and sustainable development among members.
