…as Osun state police command apologized

The Management of the Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospitals Complex, Ile-Ife has denied the earlier claim by the Osun state police command that the body of Timothy Adegoke was brought to the morgue of the Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospitals Complex for autopsy.

Adegoke was in Ile-Ife from October 22 to October 24; October 29 to October 31, and had also planned to stay from November 5 to November 7, 2021.

He was said to have frequented the town to take MBA examinations scheduled at intervals.

However, he was said to have been reported missing since he checked in at the hotel on Friday, November 5 preceding his examinations scheduled for Saturday, November 6 and Sunday, November 7.

It was learnt that it was noticed that Oludare was missing when his wife could not reach him on the phone.

Meanwhile, he had earlier contacted his wife to inform her that he was staying in a hotel.

In a statement released by the Management, OAUTHC Ile-Ife, said the body of the deceased was never deposited in their hospital for any coroner case.

Statement read;

“The attention of the Management of the Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospitals Complex, Ile-Ife, has been drawn to some publications on several social media platforms, claiming that the body of Timothy Adegoke was brought to the morgue of the Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospitals Complex for autopsy.

“Please we want to state, as a matter of fact, that, the body of the deceased was never deposited in our hospital for any coroner case.

“Our hearts and prayers go to the Adegoke family. May God gives them the fortitude to bear the weight of this difficult time”. Statement read

However, the Osun state police command apologized to the Management of the Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospitals Complex over earlier claimed that the deceased’s body was deposited for the autopsy.

The police spokesperson Yemisi Opalola said the command doesn’t have anything to hide from the public on the case.

PPRO said that ” the corpse was deposited at LAUTECH teaching hospital, not Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospitals. We are very sorry to the management of the Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospitals Complex and we don’t have anything to hide and all the part of the body still intact. She said
