The recent happenings in the country have left Nigerians infuriated and frustrated as they complain about how life keeps getting hard and difficult.
From the scarcity of fuel, to hike in fuel prices, hike in prices of food provisions, high dollar rate, ASUU strike, the collapse of the power grid, hence, the lack of supply of electricity, increased killings, and many more, even celebrities are beginning to feel the heat and some of them had some things to say.
Nigerian singer, Paul Okoye, popularly known as Rudeboy, has revealed he spent N1.4m on just petroleum products.
The ‘Reason With Me’ crooner took to his Instagram page on Wednesday to lament the cost of diesel, while describing it as “New Luxury”.
He wrote, “Ordinary house, I’m spending N1.4m for diesel (generator & diesel), the new luxury.”
On-Air Personality and businesswoman, Toke Makinwa, also took to her Twitter handle to complain about diesel prices. She said, “800 Naira per litre of diesel, my gen has been on since yesterday morning, Nigeria…which way to go o??”
Television host and actress, Stephanie Coker Aderinokun, also took to her Twitter page on Monday to severely complain about the cost of diesel and how much she had spent on fixing her car due to the damage from bad fuel.
She said, “The bill for my car as a result of bad fuel is N3.7m, a 2020 car o! Diesel is now 780, and now that the power grid has collapsed, it will probably increase. I drove by Lekki toll gate and it states toll charges will resume on April fools day. Are we fools or are we being fooled?” (sic)
Also, activist and Instagram skit comedian, Debi Adedayo, popularly known as Mr Macaroni, took to his Twitter page on Wednesday to lament the hardship in the country.
He said, “No light, fuel price has gone up, scarcity, ASUU is on strike, food prices have gone up, housing cost is ridiculously high, the security level of lives and property is worrisome… No Jobs. Salaries are not being paid.. Omooo! Nigerians are really going through it!!!” (sic)
Popular singer, Davido, took to his Twitter handle on Wednesday to call for prayers for the country. He revealed that he spent a lot of money to clear his Lambo.
He said, “U don’t even wanna know how much I just paid to clear my Lambo… Pray for Nigeria … Jesus. Naija don cast fully.” (sic)
Reacting to recent happenings, Nigerian singer and songwriter, Olawale Oloforo, also known as Brymo, is of the opinion that the country is not working because we are not working.
On his official Twitter handle, the singer tweeted on Wednesday, saying, “Nigeria may not be working because we aren’t!!”
