By Ismail Azeez, Osogbo.

The Executive Chairman, Osun State Universal Basic Education Board, Hon. Ajibola Famurewa has charged teachers to work diligent to implement government’s new education policy as the 2020/2021 academic session commence on Monday.

He gave the charge yesterday during an interactive meeting with Junior Secondary school Principals and Primary School Headteachers at Atoja School of Science Osogbo.

Famurewa cautioned the Principal and Headteachers not to involve in selling school uniforms under any condition to the students, adding that the act is against the government new education policy.

He urged them to allow students to identify and purchase their specified school uniforms by themselves in the market.

The SUBEB Boss implored the teachers to redouble their efforts towards ensuring that the government’s new education policy is adequately followed to the letter.

He said that the purpose of the meeting was to know the level of the preparedness of teachers towards the resumption of schools for new academic session.

Earlier in his welcome address, Osun SUBEB Executive Secretary, Mr Adeoye Bakare while highlighting the purpose of the meeting, implored teachers to be alive to their duties, stressing that all hands must be on deck to provide sound and worthwhile education for osun school children.

He said urging teachers to uplift it and work judiciously so as to move it to higher level, adding that it is an era of a new dawn in Osun education sector.

However, the President of all Nigeria Conference of Principals of Secondary Schools ANCOPSS, Pastor Emmanuel Ijaodola and the Chairperson of Association of primary school Headteachers of Nigeria AOPSHON, Mrs Funmilayo Aastrup, eulogized the present administration on its laudable developmental strides in education sector.

The duo promised the government the maximum support to move the state education sector to a greater height.

In attendance were SUBEB Board Members, Directors as well as Officials.
