Jamiu Olawumi, the Special Adviser on Education to Governor Gboyega Oyetola, has said the indigenes of Osun student studying in Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, LAUTECH, Ogbomoso, would enjoy existing benefits with their Oyo counterparts for hundred years.

Oyetola’s aide disclosed this on Monday during an interview on a Radio programme in Osogbo state capital.

Olawumi said part of the Memorandum Of Understanding between Osun State and Oyo State Government was that indigenes of Osun will continue to enjoy existing benefits for a century.

He further said that workers of the institution, teaching hospital in Osogbo and Ogbomoso will not lose their job.

When asked on the exact amount of money allocated to Osun after the completion of asset value of the institution property and liability, the SA said that Osun share will be made officially after completion of the transition process.

According to Mr Olawumi, the transition process is expected to last for a year in order to allow the committee to complete its mandate for mutual benefit.

He also said in few day governors of both state will make it public what their signed MOU consists.

He lauded both governors for the display of their maturity by putting interest of students above party line with the demonstration of the new MOU, however, urged citizens of Osun to be rest assured that Governor Oyetola would ensure that entitlement of the state is jealousy secured.

Thesource reports that the National Universities Commission (NUC) has on Friday transferred ownership of the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH) Ogbomoso to the Oyo State Government while the Osun state Government is to take over the College of Health Sciences in Osogbo.
