Two undergraduate students of Osun State University, (UNIOSUN) have been emerged the overall winner of the 2022 edition of the National Academic Competition.
The duo, Obayomi Suliat Adeola, a 400 Level student and Mojoro Faith Afolakemi, a 300 Level students from the Department of Food Science and Technology, defeating other 49 tertiary institutions that participated in the 2022 edition of the Grand National Academic Competition.
This year academic completion was organized by the National Institute of Food Science and Technology.
The Vice-Chancellor, Osun State University Prof Clement Adebooye, yesterday said a total of 50 tertiary institutions participated in the competition where both represented the University.
Adebooye further said that the competition commenced in June with an essay writing competition while their students won the first round to qualified for the final stage of the competition.
“The Annual General Meeting of the Nigerian Institute of Food Science and Technology featured the final stage of the competition.
“The participating finalists were then invited to compete in a debate as part of the AGM held just yesterday in Abuja, and our team beat other finalists hands-down to emerge Overall Winner in Nigeria,” he stressed
