Member, Osun State House of Assembly representing Ilesa West State Constituency, Hon Wale Adedoyin was on Sunday alleged to have beaten the Chairman, All Progressive Congress (APC) Ward 1 Ilesa West Local Government, Pa Adebayo Peter, a disable and the APC Ilesa West LCDA Youth Leader, Mr Yinka Adeosun on Saturday.
The two APC leaders were allegedly beaten by the lawmaker at his residence after the distribution of Cars gifts, motorcycles and other empowerment items to the people of his constituency at a ceremony to celebrate his 50th birthday attended by the State Party Chairman, Chief Gboyega Famodun and other dignities held in Ilesa.
Adebayo and Adeosun were said to be receiving treatment in an undisclosed hospital over fear of attack according to a close sources who are political associates of the victims.
According to the source, the APC ward chairman and the youth leader encountered the anger of the lawmaker over rejection of a “second hand used sewing machine presented to the chairman instead of motorcycle presented to other party chairmen in other ward in constituency during the ceremony.
The source said “ The physical attack was a result of the political fallout between the lawmaker and the chairman and the youth leader, at the ceremony, the chairman was presented used sewing machine instead of motorcycle presented to other ward chairmen and the entire ward leadership and members mandated the chairman to reject the sewing machine insisting that ward 1 has been shortchanged which they considered as insult and embarrassment to the ward.”
“On arrival at the residence of the lawmaker with the machine rejected, the lawmaker ordered his security guard to close the gate and personally lunched a physical attack on the chairman who is a disable and later descended on the youth leader by smashing his head on the wall until the blood was gushing.
When contacted, one of the victim, Adeosun, the APC Ilesa West LCDA youth leader confirmed the incident and appealed to the State Governor, Alhaji Isiaka Adegboyega Oyetola and the APC state Chairman, Prince Gboyega Famodun to get justice for them as victims of the lawmaker brutality to instinct party discipline and violence.
He added that the case has equally been reported to the police for necessary action and seek the intervention and protection of the police over himself, the ward 1 party chairman and his son Opeyemi Peter who was openly threatened by the lawmaker during the attack.
Contacting lawmaker, Adedoyin through telephone denied the incident in his resident.
