No fewer than 850 widows in Boripe Local Government of the State of Osun, on Saturday, benefited from the philanthropist gestures of a popular businesswoman and philanthropist, Alhaja Falilat Oyetunji, popularly known as Ero Arike.
The widows who gathered at Owode Arike market, Iragbiji, were given foodstuffs, clothes and other items to celebrate this year’s Christmas.
Speaking at the event, Alhaja Oyetunji said it is her usual regular practice to support the less privileged and the aged, especially widows.
According to Oyetunji, she has provided nothing less than 28 boreholes for the benefit of residents of Iragbiji and its environs.
Oyetunji noted that she needed to appreciate God by providing for the people who are in need, saying that her gesture is to put smiles on the faces of the people.
The beneficiaries of the gesture appreciated Oyetunji and showered encomiums on her, describing her as their pillar of support.
One of the beneficiaries, Falilat Akinbade, said: “Ero Arike is our angel on earth. She has been helping us a lot; and there is no one else that is caring for us here. Ero Arike is the only person that is supporting us, we wish we have two of her kind.”
Another beneficiary, Rafatu Adebare appreciated Alhaja Oyetunji, stressing that: “Ero Arike has been caring for us for a long time. She always gives us foodstuffs, clothes, her products and other things. She also sank boreholes for us. May God continue to bless her.
Mrs Wosilatu Babatunde who also received gift items from Oyetunji, commended her for putting smiles on the faces of the people, especially the widows.
