The Jigawa State Chapter of the Democratic Congress (ADC) has adopted governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Mustapha Sule Lamido ahead of Saturday’s gubernatorial election.
This was announced by the acting chairman of the party in the state, Alhaji Kabiru Hussaini while briefing newsmen in Dutse, the state capital of the state, said the decision was made after due and wide consultations with all stakeholders and party caucus and all agreed to support the PDP governorship candidate for obvious reasons.
According to him “We are directing all our party members and supporters to votes the PDP gubernatorial candidate because it’s only PDP that can salvage the state from total collapse”
Alhaji Kabiru Husaini maintained that all the party members to support the gubernatorial candidate of the People’s Democratic Party PDP Mustapha Sule Lamido coming Saturday election.
The ADC chairman explained that “we carefully observed and fully satisfied that the PDP governorship candidate is the best and capable to handle the affairs of the state and youth imparticular for the faster and effective development in socio-economical lives of people in the state”.
He added that “other reasons includes the PDP governorship candidate Alhaji Mustapha Sule Lamido’s blueprint and manifesto is the same with our party. We optimistic and convinced that Lamido would do all we needs in the state”.
In his response the PDP campaign council chairman, Alhaji Isah Ahmed Duniya Bahutu commended the ADC, executive, and its members’ decision to support and vote for PDP.
Alhaji Isah Ahmed Duniya Bahutu said the ADC made a very good decision for the betterment of the state.
While reacting over the allegations, the ADC gubernatorial candidate Muhammad Sani Gumel said the embattled acting chairman has no right to expel him from the party.
He said the embattled acting chairman was expelled from the party by the National headquarters on 22 September 2022 and is not recognized by the party headquarters, INEC, IPAC, and other security agencies.
According to him” I Muhammad Sani Gumel the ADC gubernatorial candidate, I am the legitimate acting chairman of the party since 8 December.2022 after the party expelled him for working against the interest of the party.
“We are still members of ADC, We only through our support for the presidential and gubernatorial candidates in Jigawa state because we can’t work against the major political parties, that is why I relinquished my candidature and asked our members to vote for APC in the coming Saturday election”.
